Music on the Avenue

Artists on the Avenue is the Langhorne Coffee House's Monthly Artist Series. In conjunction with the art opening, we always provide live music for our customers to enjoy during the First Friday event. We are always looking to book eager, local performing artists for entertainment and are open to numerous genres and styles of music. The first Friday is always a nice night out in a casual, comfortable atmosphere where the crowd is always welcoming.

The following are examples of some of the artists that have played at the coffee house.

About the night itself

The Artist on the Avenue night begins at 6 pm and finishes at 10 pm. Guests arrive throughout the evening. Generally, the music artists play from 7 pm until about 9:30 pm; however, exceptions do occur due to the feelings of the crowd. The musical artist(s) are expected to arrive at 6:30 pm to allow for ample set-up time.

All music genres are considered.

Many musical artists sell T-shirts, albums, and other memorabilia during the night to the Artists on the Avenue customers. We encourage the artists to set up their products before they begin and if they so choose can leave their products there throughout the month.

Specifics for the Musical Artists

In order to play at the Artist on the Avenue event on the First Friday, the musical artist(s) need to send the following information to our music director, Marshall Brownstein at Music@langhornecoffeehouse.com or at 267-391-7721.

We need:

  • At least one music sample sent to the email listed above in the MP3 format.
  • A description of the type of music or genre that the band or artist specializes in.
  • A photograph of your general setup in order for us to visualize how the band or artist will fit into the Coffee House.
  • a short biography of the artist or band detailing the artist or band's history, previous performance locations, albums, and general member information such as name and contact information.
  • To know if the band or artist intends on selling any memorabilia or albums either on the First Friday or for the remainder of the month.
  • To know how many individuals make up the band and the type of equipment that will be necessary for the night.
  • To know if the Coffee House needs to make any specific adjustments or accommodations for the artist on the First Friday that we might need to prepare ahead of time.

If all of this information is received, our musical director, Marshall, depicted below, will contact you to schedule a month and we look forward to hearing from you.
